Ttv Photo App Review

Ttv means "Through the Viewfinder". This is talking about photographers that shoot into the actual view finders of cameras in order to shoot their subject. Their images usually have dirt, specks and spots that come with the common wear and tear of any camera that is over 20+ years old. Mostly people use double reflex cameras and rangefinders to shoot their photographs.

Ttv seeks out to emulate this style digitally, sans all the work and extra equipment, in the neat little package called the iPhone. It's quite interesting. Although, I do find some dirt and specks on the filter is a bit exaggerated. I still feel though, it's a fun and interesting app to look into.

There are a few minor adjustments it needs in order to fully make this an A+ app. There is a problem with the orientation. It shows a horizontal camera within the app, but when you get the photo, it's sideways. It's a small quirk but if you shoot a lot of photos like I do, it becomes a problem having to rotate them all later in the Photoshop app. Also, it doesn't shoot at full resolution. Hopefully, these two major details will be adressed in future updates.

Quite a few of the filters give good results in sunny conditions. Quite a few others, are not recommended unless there's ample light.

The great thing about this app is the fact you can change any "viewfinder" from B&W to color, or sepia. I really love the B&W.

Keep in mind these were all shot between the hours of 3:30-6:00pm. So mostly full sunlight.

I think the developers have a bit of kinks to still work out but it's still a great look and I look forward to future updates.

As always, If you do get the app, you are welcome to post your own photos below in the comments. It supports image uploads.
